Where can I download Slackware 15 iso with all the most recent upgrades?

This may be a dumb newbie question but there you are. I burned 15 off the official site and setup slackbuilds current and made the mistake of upgrading all and after an hour of downloads gave up.
So can I just download a more current iso?

Thanks

Q: Where can I download Slackware 15 iso with all the most recent upgrades?
A: There is no such thing officially released by Slackware.

Unofficially? alien base perchance?

From what I know, nobody bothered to do this or even thought do do this.

After all, why they should do this?

Convenience maybe? Like most mainstream distros.

I know no distribution which respin the released ISOs each time they update/patches the packages.

But they do allow you to install from internet repositories and then get the latest versions of the packages.

Ah you mean during install, ya Linux Mint does that when you install the CD/USB they give you a choice to update the system right away. I kinda know that my wife use's Mint. ( It's kind of annoying ) but I am ok with it I guess.

In theory it would be possible to create some kind of "nightly builds" creating more or less official installation isos including the latest patches. However, I see two problems with such an approach:
  1. Size
    During the years, the software and also the isos has become more bloated. To fit onto media important stuff like the source directory has already been omitted from the official installation isos.
  2. Installation procedure
    The original Slackware installation procedure does not install or upgrade any packages from the patches directory.

IMHO, the best solution would be to provide separate official isos with initial sources as well as nightly builds of patches (containing both packages and sources).

That being said, I have my own Makefile building customized Slackware installation isos containing both initial sources and patches packages (but not the sources for the patches). However, those isos end up with sizes of about 25 GB and need to be burned to bluray discs.

You can use this script from AlienBob, but you will have to edit it to work with 15.0. Out of the box, it downloads -current. It must be ran as root with the first run using the -f option to create a local tree. While I only use it for current, with a few edits it should be fine for 15.0. It automagically creates a new iso each time it is ran.

The first run takes a while. Subsequent runs will be way faster.

It is not about making a local mirror and then modifying the AlienBob script to adapt it to 15.0, and thus obtain a "nightly build" ISO and thus be able to install Slackware 15.0 with the latest patches already applied. It is about, and this goes to you Patrick, to modify the Slackware installer program, and add an option to be able to install against an official repository and that the patches are installed at that moment for those packages that must be patched in the update post installation. (I think in Slackware 14.2, almost every package had to be updated after installation, so it was a long time to install and do double work :()

Not quite.

Code:

$ cd ~ftp/slackware64-14.2
$ find slackware64 -name '*.txz'|wc -l
1332
$ find patches/packages -name '*.txz'|wc -l
161

Q: What's a masochist?
A: Someone who install Slackware 14.2 only to upgrade it right away to 15.0

I didn't mean installing Slackware 15.0 from 14.2. I meant that I remember installing Slackware 14.2 from the ISO and then doing slackpkg update; slackpkg upgrade-all was a bunch of packages.
