When we are going to get the new Slack version?

Bazinga !

Diantre 09-19-2015 10:06 PM

When it's ready. :)

coralfang 09-19-2015 10:07 PM

Usual Answer is, "when it's ready" :)

There's a hint though, if you check the changelog for -current

The version of aaa_elflibs usually changes when a new slackware release is about to appear. All we know right now, is that the next release version is 14.2. So to answer your question, i would guess before the end of the year

Bazinga?

Oh, and please update your signature as you were already running 14.0 on 23-02-13, 12:54 Paris time.

frankbell 09-19-2015 11:11 PM

It has been my experience that Slackware does not announce release dates.

Slackware announces releases.

And the day after everal upgrades to 14.1, a new Slackware release will be available ... D'oh!

Requests for updates had better go into the thread which exists for that purpose: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-a-4175540375/

schmatzler 09-20-2015 11:06 PM

What do you mean with "new version"? I'm running -current since years now!

Since ages time it has been foretold dear children.

The Gospel of Robert, Chapter 6 verse 8:

When the blood moon doth rise in the night of mist, the shining ring of lunaris is visible, and fire streams across the sky, shall Lord Patrick emerge from the shrine of atonement bearing the mantle of he who walks behind the code! Repent! Repent for the 14 and 2 of ware that is Slack doth come!!! Repent!!!

magicm 09-21-2015 10:02 AM

Shouldn't that be "Rejoice" instead of "Repent" ? (Sorry, couldn't help myself)

Just remove the --shared-openssl flag, or use the iojs SlackBuild.
