when you boot into the installer from your UEFI bios screen and do gdisk of fdisk to partition the second drive only setup the second drive. this should do it.
In the past occasionally I have had to zero the first few sectors of the second drive before booting the installer.
Make sure to clone or backup your second drive first.
All from memory and may not be accurate, but like I said works for me.

Checking minimal notes on two of my bootable drives I used the 'current' installer. So the answer to your question is yes
