Wheel mouse

Hello,
In Slackware10.2 while trying to get the wheel mouse going I rendered the system unable loaded tried boot disk and CD.

I installed MDK 10.1 to look at the X11 (Mouse works fine here).

This is what I found ,will it work on Slackware?

Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse1"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "ExplorerPS/2"
Option "Device" "/dev/mouse"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
EndSection

Thanks,
digger

yes, it would. Assuming that you have a 7-button mouse.
If you have a 5-button mouse change the fifth line to:
Code:
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
I recommend to change the fourth line to:
Code:
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"

Wheel Mouse

Hi appreciate the quick responce,

I have used those settings also tried adding (Option "Buttons" "5") and it didn't work (I've worked with it a couple of days) there are several different ways to try given on line. And have tried many.

the 6 7 are from the mouse I have been using
I'm going to try to get Slackware reloaded later tonight and try again.

thank you,
digger

You are welcome.
Post any results you have.
If you keep having problems check the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file and post it here too

It must work somehow.
