DaOne, thanks for the kinda positive feed-back ;)

Wow ... thanks LinFreak!, I feel rather honoured.
And stick with Slack, it's just too cool :}

Cheers,
Tink

Tink,

You've inspired me to try Slack, also. As a matter of fact, this morning I woke at 4:30 with *Slack* on my mind. So, I put on a pot of coffee and as soon as I go pour that first cup I'm going to install it for the first time :>)

Tinkster 11-18-2003 03:01 PM

<BG> ... now that is a success ...

/me feels like a missionary :}

Cheers,
Tink

I'll try to let you know in a little while just how it goes.
Looking for the install info I printed out right now - first
cup of java beginning to work - eyes almost focused :>)

NB: Tink says, "Slack comes with Lilo by default, and
in your constellation you'll oribably want
to install Slack's lilo in /hdbX, and
point debians lilo to that using
other :)"

NB: Use same swap and /home ...

I for one do not agree with him being grumpy... he has helped me many times

Ahhh...cmon there Tink. It was all positive for you man...I was just including the others that contribute as well in a general statement. I have found myself many times reading your replies and gathering what I come here for...knowledge.

Bottom line, it's people like you that make this forum what it is. And, I am not picking on anyone here...but I believe that the search button is there for a reason??? Just a hunch ;)

Keep up the good work Tink.

Hey, I'm singing the Slack praises, too! It's installed and I've got a little tweaking to do, like my BroadCom gigabit lan isn't recognized (but the Realtek fallback is), and my Micro$loth Wireless Intellimouse Explorer ain't working (but the Logitech PS/2 is), but later on today after Chinese class that can all be worked out!

The things I've been struggling to get going in Debian are in Slack by default.

Okay, Debian, take a hike!

Tink, cross me off the Kiwi column, okay?

I don't like Tinkster, either.

He's always answering the questions that I know the answers to, before I can answer them. So I never get a chance to feel superior to anyone.

And as if that's not bad enough, he answers the questions that I don't know the answers to, so I actually start feeling inferior.

You stink, Tink!

;-)

Enjoy!

Tink helped me when I first got here, it was the best piece of info I could have gotton and very certainly enhanced my computing experience/enjoyment...im not going to worship him like so many others in this thread...

*evil tone*

I just want his brain...... >:D

Thanks for the help Tink, your the complete opposite of grumpy in my opinion.
