What is "Huge"?
I was looking through the kernel choices for 11.0. I see one that is "huge26.s". What does "huge" mean in this context? Can it support "huge" amounts of memory? or does it contain the kitchen sink?
Thanks,
Harlin Seritt

Harlin,
That's about right. Huge supports more memory and has more drivers installed.
You can check the ChangeLog for details. In fact, it would be a good idea to read much of the documentation on Slackware 11 before installing as there are a lot of changes this time around.

Hi,
The huge26.s kernel is a coverall kernel (2.6.17.11), an attempt to include all the supported filesystems and the modules to allow a universal booting/install. PV, moved from the test26.s to the huge26.s in hope to accomplish this. You should read the changelog.

Not that it makes a big difference, but the huge26.s kernel is a 2.6.17.13 kernel, so that it matches the modules, source and headers packages in /extra/linux-2.6.17.13 without problems.

Hi,
Sorry about the error. I used an old changelog, lazy! Should have gone to slackware.com to get update since I linked it.
Agreement about why and how for the 2.6.17.13.
