What features/changes would you like to see in future Slackware?

Ah heck. Poo-poo on vi and vim --- and emacs.

Preset the environment variables to a different editor altogether:

export EDITOR="mcedit"
export VISUAL="mcedit"

I use Kate in the gui, otherwise its emacs in the console. I fired up elvis just to see.....nah!

I hope I have found a couple of features.

First, it looks like Ruby is official but Gems are not. I guess Ruby and Gems are actually one thing, so Gems should be official too.

Second, Slackware is not about the latest and greatest at all costs and it is good. I would like to make an exception for toolkits so that things like Qt4, Ruby 1.9 and Python 3 are official and appear immediately on release.

Id like to see fsck moved from boot, to something which executes upon shutown (if its possible).

It only happens once every 30 boots, but its the most annoying thing when your in a hurry.
