In order to grow Slackware needs to look like it's alive.
The homepage has gotta be updated...Updated FAQ.
I might be able to help with some of that. I don't know a lot about Slackware (I've only been using it for two years and I don't use KDE at all) but I have done documentation jobs before.

I get the impression that the php that runs that site is a mystery to unravel and the updates we do see is html being edited the old school way. Pat hasn't found a replacement system he likes from my understanding.
@ReFractum @Hazel @RadicalDreamer: The current 'Home' page is the outdated 'News' page. How difficult would it be to replace, say the anti-advertising panel of who made the website since 2013, with a self-updating pane showing the current Changelog (of course there will be a quibble for which architecture but maybe each one could be in a tab).
Just seeing Pat talk with the community (i.e. in the Changelog) is the best advertising possible (as I found reading ReFractum's post). And we just have to embrace that Slackware is for those who use their computer to get something done in a work environment of their own choice.
From what I remember that I have read, the slackware.com server is a really old pal, booting from a floppy drive because its BIOS is too old to boot from a SATA adapter card, so I guess that any discussion about the website should think exclusively about super-lightweight solutions.
Just saying...

Alienbob and a few others set something up for Pat and he didn't want to implement it. It is mentioned on here somewhere. I'm guessing the reason it might have not been implemented was because the Store wasn't paying him, and the last thing he needed was problems with the website that he couldn't afford to fix. Someone setup that website for him long ago. If it works for ~2 decades why break it? I agree that stuff like Changelog updates should be on the front page to show activity along with Pat's charming and kind personality. I agree that it needs to be updated so it is easier for him to manage content updates on the front page. If the website is updated it is up to Pat. He is Slackware's BDFL!

Yip, of course. It was a simple suggestion to let the domain point to some other page than 'News' to start with. But the major hassle will be to access the hosted pages to make the change (if it is clear where the pointer could be altered)...
