Most should apply to Slack due to Slackware's general vanilla goodness. I may be misinterpreting what you are asking for, but if you need a step by step does that mean you are a complete newbie without any experience at all? If so you are not ready for a total immersion into hardware, software and kernel development. You just need to get a working system up and running and take things a step at a time. Play with the command line, pick a real text editor (vi or emacs if you want to be a power user eventually) and learn how to use it. Then learn to compile/install packages. Learn about tcp/ip, iptables, etc....

If you want a curriculum for Linux (there is no such thing for Slackware specifically) you can look for the LPI certification.
Some course material for LPI training has been made available for free: http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/lpi-manuals/

That should give you better insight into Linux administration in general, which will prove useful when you start working with Slackware.

RUTE is probably what you need. It is designed as a learning tool. See my signature block for the url. Or type RUTE into Google.
