weird fonts in opera (only)

hello everyone!
I recently installed opera as well to check it out.
well I seem to have problems with the menu fonts. the letters seem to belong all to the same ... font, but they jump up and down!

look for yourself! (the letters in the entries under 'Menu' button, and the address bar etcetc, but not the website itself)

what could be wrong?
firefox and chrome (and any other application) don't have any problem.

The only relevant thing that i can think of is that recently i installed the webcore fonts and terminus fonts in my slackware. all from slackbuilds.org

thank you for your help!

That is strange. I use Opera, but don't have that issue.
Running under xfce with dejavu sans book set in settings/appearance and within opera itself: menu/settings/preferences/advanced/fonts all set to either dejavu sans, or dejavu sans mono.

I don't have that issue either with Opera in KDE-4.5.3
That was weird!

Maybe you should try Opera 11 beta. This is the first Opera version I see that respects system fonts settings.

http://www.opera.com/browser/next/

(the current SlackBuild on SBo works well with this version, just change variables VERSION and REVNO).
