weird cairo-dock question

I've been trying to install cairo-dock. Got it installed but for some reason when I right click on the docker and select "configure" from the menu, I don't want to say it crashes, but the docker will blink and the configuration window doesn't open. I can select "configure this dock" or "Manage themes" and get a window, but unable to actually change the theme. I can rename the launchers but can't add/remove new ones.

Now, if I delete the "current_theme" folder under ~/.config I can change the theme and what not until I log-out/log back in. Then it's back to the same behavior. I have tried multiple themes. Same thing. The first time I installed was with sbopkg. Uninstalled because of behavior. Reinstalled with the SlackBuild packages. Same thing.

Slackware 14 current 32 bit
Xfce4 with Compiz

Anyone got any suggestions?

Here is the Cairo Dock Help webpage. I hope it helps you.

It's been a long time since I used Cairo Dock but I recall how to add to it-
Use your mouse to grab the application that you want and drag it down into the dock; the Icon and App. should stay in the dock permanently. To remove an application and the icon to it simply use your mouse to grab it and hold it outside of the Cairo Dock and let it go. Once you let go of the icon to the app it should delete it.

Also; here is the Cario Dock Wiki.....HTH
