webcam logitech 046d:0870


HI!

i have this webcam : 046d:0870 Logitech, Inc. QuickCam Express
that line is taked from lsusb

dmesg doesnt show anything, and lsmod neither
i´ve installed alienbob package ; gspcav1 and add the line blacklist gspca_main to blacklist from modprobe, but nothing happens

here says that the module is
stv06xx 046d:0870 Dexxa WebCam USB
but i cant find it in my slack12.2 ( 2.6.27.7-smp with initrd)

video0 not exist or is not created

anyone??

so you get output from lsusb but not from dmesg when you plug in the webcam?
are you using the precompiled generic-slack-kernel? the module stv06xx should be included in the huge-slack-kernel.

hi again

i try to use the huge-smp, but the module stv06xx doesnt there
the qc-usb module (quickcam) i've already try it, but i cant compile it and create the .ko
the module stv06xx should be included in the huge-slack-kernel???

dmesg view my cam, sorry

usb 3-2: New USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=0870

maybe the module is not inlcuded in the 12.2 slackware huge-kernel. download and install kernel-huge-2.6.29.6 from the slackware repo or compile your own kernel.
but according to
http://forums.quickcamteam.net/showthread.php?tid=838
there still might be some problems depending on the sensor of your webcam.

i installed a "Logitech QuickCam Communication MP for Business" 046d:09a1

hi, i dont know if this will help but i installed a "Logitech QuickCam Communication MP for Business"

i'm using slackware 12, kernel 2.6.27, i made sure uvc was compiled under kernel,
Device Drivers, Multimedia devices, Video capture adapters, V4L USB devices, <M> USB Video Class (UVC)

dmesg
uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device <unnamed> (046d:09a1)
input: UVC Camera (046d:09a1) as /class/input/input4
usb 1-2: USB disconnect, address 3
usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 4
usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
uvcvideo: Found UVC 1.00 device <unnamed> (046d:09a1)
input: UVC Camera (046d:09a1) as /class/input/input5

lsusb
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 046d:09a1 Logitech, Inc.

lsmod | grep uvc

i installed mjpg-streamer, followed documentation then

to view a single JPEG in a browser 127.0.0.1:8080/?action=snapshot
