I found the official Arch installation guide to be a little too verbose to really be useful. Their Beginner's Guide though, is excellent. I used it to install and configure Arch:

I don't know how official the beginner's guide is.

Seems I forgot to mention one of the most helpful resources of information for Slackware:
Alien Bob's Slackware Wiki.
Yup, Alien_Bob's wiki has been my "unofficial" Slackware bible.
Just because no one else has mentioned it, and because it has been a valuable resource for me, I would like to mention Woodsman's site:
http://humanreadable.nfshost.com/sdeg/
I also agree that that the README's, and the stuff in /usr/doc/ are a valuable and often overlooked resource. One of the great things about Slackware is that most of the documentation you will ever need is already there on your computer!

In fact, I think, this is the kind of thing the OP had in mind.

I think Alien Bob's wiki has been mentioned several times in the thread.

Yes, but only after I did in the post you quote. At least, no URL or clickable hyperlink was given before, in this thread. That's why I thought, it might be useful to mention it explicitly.

Other posters seemed to have gotten the same idea, just a little later.
