vsftpd, refusing remote connects, slackware, firewall settings and inetd

I am sure there is something simple that I am overlooking.

assuming inetd and / or rc.firewall error

New install Slackware I have SSH working, apache working and allowing connects on both.

fired up vsftp which works fine locally:
root@WEBserver:/home/michael# ftp localhost
Connected to localhost.
220 Welcome to Red Coyote FTP service.
Name (localhost:michael):
331 Please specify the password.
Password:
230 Login successful.
Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.
ftp>

but cannot connect from remote.

Any suggestions?

Michael

You posted the same message twice, which is called cross-posting, which is also against the rules that apply here at LinuxQuestions.

This thread is reported for closure, guess that a moderator didn't have time to do so just yet.

People tend to use the browsers back button and fail to notice the edit button on the post they made, is what happened. Thread closed as dupe.
