Running Eric's tigervnc-1.3.0-x86_64-1alien on 14.0 under xfce4.
I start the server in rc.local with no other config files, and small enough to fit on a small laptop:
su -c "vncserver :1 -depth 24 -name <server> -geometry 1200x700" <user> &
On the client side, vncviewer geometry initialises as defined, but can be resized like any window (drag), or by the vncviewer '-geometry' option.
