VMware problem

On kernel 2.6.7 I get a wonderful error by Vmware.. it tells me that /dev/vmmon is missing .. now would this be because of the kernel or udev? because Vmware worked fine on kernel 2.6.6 without udev installed. Could udev cause this? or no?

Sorry, misread your post. I was going to suggest running vmware-config.pl, but you've probably already done that. I'm still running 2.6.6 so I don't know if vmware has a problem with the latest kernel.
