VirtualBox fails after kernel update

Hi.

I've just upgraded the kernel to 4.4.172. VirtualBox 5 stopped working because its kernel modules could not be loaded. I've uninstalled it and installed 6.0.4 instead. Unfortunately it also fails to install the kernel modules.

Code:

root@firefly:~# /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
vboxdrv.sh: Stopping VirtualBox services.
vboxdrv.sh: Starting VirtualBox services.
vboxdrv.sh: Building VirtualBox kernel modules.
vboxdrv.sh: failed: Look at /var/log/vbox-setup.log to find out what went wrong.

The contents of /var/log/vbox-setup.log is too long to be pasted here, so here's a pastebin link: https://pastebin.com/dmd6y4Av

What can I do about this?

EDIT: There's another thread about this already.

Have a look at https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...-a-4175647407/

The solution worked for me. I stayed with virtualbox-kernel (5.0.40) obtained from SlackBuilds and kernel 4.4.172 from Pat.

I tried this and it worked: https://slackblogs.blogspot.com/2019...plication.html
