VirtualBox *.run script

For the first time I tested the VirtualBox *.run script rather than build a package. The VNC extension is not installed?

If I understood it right, VirtualBox installer blob doesn't contain VirtualBox Extension Pack. You have to install it manually.

There is no separate Oracle VNC extension pack. There is only the proprietary extension pack that supports RDP.

VNC is an open source extension only. There's no extpack for it because of license reasons I think. It's only available if you build from source.

Apparently that is the only way to get the VNC extension pack. The upstream Oracle repositories and *.run script do not include the VNC pack. A way to trick people into downloading and installing the proprietary extension pack.

Shoulder shrug? Well, the proprietary pack explicitly forbids usage in business unless a paid license is purchased. $50 sounds reasonable except for a minimum order of 100 licenses.
