Virtual consoles just pixelated colors?

I have slackware 9.1 with some current packages installed. I used to be able to switch to a virtual terminal using CTRL + ALT + F5, now all I get is a line of multi-coloured pixels, which changes when I try to switch to another virtual terminal....

Any Ideas? I think this may be related to me putting Dropline Gnome on, then using the installer to remove, which seemed to remove like half of the packages on my computer...

if you have installed nvidia graphics driver, then it makes it.if you don't need to load in boot, you can disable it in /etc/X11/XF86Config and find line "nvidia" make it to > "nv" after next reboot it will take effect.you can fix back laters.I have installed nvidia too,but I disabled it in boot loading, because it doesn't let you see kernel messages or when you do CTRL+ALT+F12,F1,F5

I have the Nvidia drivers installed, does a newer version of the drivers sort this problem out?

So it is nothing todo with just having something missing?

CTRL + ALT + F6 still just has pixels....

I think all nvidia users or who has installed nvidia have the the same issue.who knows newer version can fix the issue.let's wait.but I have disabled loading in boot anyway it is installed
