Video editing in Slack

Maybe somebody knows a program for video editing, working in Slack???
I tried to compile Cinelerra and Kino, both without success. Maybe I make a fault during compilation (according to readme), has somebody some experience with this? Perhaps I should install additional libraries, missing in Slack base install?
Or maybe there is another program for this subject, possible to use in Slack??
Support for digital camera is not necessary, as I work on .avi and .mpeg files from another sources.

Hey! :) OK, there are LOTS of programs but you might check out:
mjpeg tools
or:
LiVES
Hope this helps! :)

You can check this link to freshmeat.net. This is the listing for all the projects under the non-linear video editing category. Cinelerra is like supposed to be the best and most complete editing sofware for linux right now. Kino I've heard is pretty good too.
Please keep us informed about your video editing experience with Linux.

Cheers,
Figa

There is a Cinelerra package at linuxpackages.net , so maybe that will work for you instead of compiling it.

I use mencoder for basic stuff, like cropping the video and trimming stuff off the beginning or end, or encoding using a different video/audio codec. It's command-line though, and hard to master. But powerful.

Thanks so much for your help. I instaled some programs you mentioned above (Filmgimp, LiVES, Avidemux), also downoladed Cinelerra from linuxpackages.net. But had no time yet to check it out. Next week I try to post some results.
