video config files

I have been fighting with my video settings for two weeks.
I finally stumbled onto some good settings.
Which config files can I copy over to a fat partition for perusal later just
in case rebooting loses my settings

(I modprobed a video driver that I had downloaded at boot )

I have to shut down now as I am late for work and cant leave this one running but
I want to be ready next time.

Thank you very much for any replies.

Thank you kilgoretrout

You should back up /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.
