Version bump for mpg123? (And others!)

Since the first beta of Slackware 14 is now out, would it be possible to bump the version of mpg123 in -current before 14 goes final, please? I've maintained my own 1.14 package for Slackware 13.37 and it's been working well so far. In my eyes, the most significant change since 1.13.3 is the improvement of the remote interface, which is used by some media players that use mpg123 for playback (e.g. gmusicbrowser).

As a side-note, I wish more media players - and GStreamer - would use mpg123 for MP3 decoding, because it's the only library that correctly supports LAME info-tags (and therefore is the only library that provides proper support for gapless playback of LAME-encoded MP3s). Oh well, I can dream...

Thanks! :D

Maybe we should have a polite version bump please if it's not too late wishlist thread. This one'll do :)

In increasing order of controversy:

ed-1.6
exiv2-0.23
distcc-3.1

libpng >= 1.4.11 would be nice (1.4.12 is the latest).
Quote:

All "modern" versions of libpng through 1.5.9, 1.4.10, 1.2.48, and 1.0.58, respectively, fail to correctly handle malloc() failure for text chunks (in png_set_text_2()), which can lead to memory corruption and the possibility of execution of hostile code. This serious vulnerability has been assigned ID CVE-2011-3048 and is fixed in version 1.5.10 (and versions 1.4.11, 1.2.49, and 1.0.59, respectively, on the older branches), released 29 March 2012.

+1 for distcc-3.1.

zsh is also on my whishlist. Version 5.0 may be asked too much, but versions 4.3.12 to 4.3.17 are all stability releases.

looks like zsh 5.0, just went 'stable' http://www.zsh.org/mla/users/2012/msg00498.html
