Verizon Fios with Slackware

I am seriously considering upgrading to fios now that it is in my area, I'm pretty sure it works with linux since they use dynamic ip (I think). But I just wanted to see if anyone here has it just to confirm?

Thanks

I am on Verizon FiOS, and I use Linux. You get a router that is connected to their networks, either by coax if you have their TV service, or just ethernet.

Hello, Long Beach!! (from Pasadena)

I've never had an issue with Linux connecting to any ISP. The protocols are standard. They may want you to run the (Windows) setup CD, but they will also give you the basic settings.

I would always use a router---that way, noone knows what your system is, and you get less flack from lazy helpdesk folk
