/var/log/dmesg has stuff until just before PCMCIA init

Hi:

linux kernel 2.16, Slackware 12.0.
In /etc/rc.d/rc.M I have the line

/bin/dmesg -s 65536 > /var/log/dmesg

inmediately before the PCMCIA inicialization.
However, I would like to see every message output to console at boot time and
up to the loggin prompt whenever I want within the session. How do I
do this? I suppose placing the line at the end of rc.M would do it. But then
why the authors did not do it themselfs? Any hint will be kinkly received. Regards.

E.S.

I've done that. Every thing looks pretty much like in the screen at boot time but messages notifying PCMCIA or ALSA inicialization lack. Why? More precisely, the whole set of screen messages is present in /var/log/messages, but with the exception of some messages as mentioned above. Regards and thanks.

P.S.: I'll see who writes /var/log/messages. Everything must
begin with /etc/inittab.
