/usr/lib/libXfixes.so: could not read symbols: File in wrong format

I got this error in a Slackbuild, my googling seems to point towards some issue with multilib but I'm not finding any real good conclusion. Stock 14.1 x64 with Alien Bob's multilib.

Code:
/usr/lib64/gcc/x86_64-slackware-linux/4.8.2/../../../../x86_64-slackware-linux/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/X11R6/lib/libpthread.a when searching for -lpthread
/usr/lib/libXfixes.so: could not read symbols: File in wrong format
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

Suggestions?
