Using Nessus as a security tool on 9.1

Hi all,

Can I use Nessus as a security scanner on my 9.1 box without doing it from the "outside"?

I mean can I just run it on my single-user machine or do I have to do it from another one?

How accurate would it be compared to a scan from the outside?

Thanks!

Hi again. You can run it from the computer where it is installed. I don't think it really matters where you control it from.

daYz,

Thanks again!

I think there's an error in the Nessus .tgz package compiled at linuxpackages.net: it places the files in the wrong place and I couldn't add a new nessus user. Will try to get the source package.

Cheers!
