Im new to Linux and Slackware
Anyway, first i did a lot of settings as root, like setting upp KDE and putting icons on the desktop.. After couple hours i made a new account since i shouldnt be using root and now most settings are gone, all icons and KDE is back on scratch, not even extensions and themes in Firefox works..
I guess all those settings are saved somewhere since they always where there when i loggen on and off from the root account but i dont know where and i havent found them while searching here and google..
when you installed that stuff as root, it put things in a user profile folders located it root's home directory.. they are hidden folders but are in places like /root/.kde and /root/.mozilla (for firefox). you will have to setup everything over again. each user has their own settings for pretty much everything.
yeah i was thinking that too.... something about that kinda strikes me as risky, but it should work.
if your new to linux, you know how to chown right?
