user permission /home

I have slackware 11 installed on desktop PC, and one user (me) now I'am always logged in like user but use terminal like root(I dont know is this ok)? I create some dir in /home/user and after that I cant change this dir like user only like root(save,remove...)? When I type ls -l perrmission is only belongs to root. Why is that so, how to change?

thanx

Sounds like you created this directory as root, so it is owned by root. To change ownership to your non-root user:
Code:
chmod yourusername yourdirectoryname
cheers

chown -R <username> /home/<username> # change the owner of the file/folder
chgrp -R <groupname> /home/<username> # change the group owner of the file/folder

and no .. it is not considered safe to be root at all times.
