USB Sources

Hello!

I've got an up and running Slackware system. I am right now attempting to implement USB capabilities. However, I don't have of a clue of where to start.

Coming from Windows, USB is pretty simple - you just plug it in and the computer prompts you for the driver if it can't find it.

How does it work under Linux? Is there a cron that is run to search the USB ports?

Where do I start figuring out what to do?

what kinda usb devices are you trying to use? did you enable hot plug support?

That's just what I needed.

I am running a variety of USB devices and wanted to see if I can act as a window$ laymen configuring it.
