USB scanner problems


The problem is my Trust usb combi scanner is being recognised when I plug in or remove it but /proc/bus/usb is empty so there is nothing for sane to find

(un/plugged a few times)

but /proc/bus/usb is still empty. This is slack current 2.6.12 kernel. I recompiled kernel and double checked that I hadnt missed any usb options etc.

Any ideas?

Ok I figured it out: my fstab was trying to use usbdevfs instead of the newer usbfs
