HI,
I am running slackware 9.1 and have recently compiled the new 2.6.1 kernel on my system. Everything is working fine except my Alcatel speedtouch modem. I have this script to initialize my modem at startup:-
Code:
#!/bin/bash
modprobe usbcore
mount none /proc/bus/usb -t usbdevfs
modprobe usb_ohci
modprobe n_hdlc
/usr/local/sbin/modem_run -m -f /usr/local/sbin/mgmt.o
modprobe ppp_synctty
modprobe ppp_generic
pppd call adsl
This worked fine under slack 9.1 and 2.4.23 kernel. However now I get a couple of errors when this script is executed:-
FATAL: module usbcore is already in kernel
FATAL: module usb_ohci is not found
The alcatel modem still flashes and seems to connect, but it doesn't actually connect. I am pretty sure that all the ppp settings are correct as they are the same as before. I compiled all the correct modules into my kernel. The system recognises the usb modem fine suggesting that I have correctly compiled USB support into the kernel.
Any help would be appreciated.
Tom.
