I have no problem installing Slackware from 9.1 to -current with an USB keyboard. Perhaps you could read this article to learn how to give more information so someone could help you.

Can we get some specs on the PC that you're installing on? Does the keyboard work during your POST (i.e. can you use it to get into the BIOS)?

Do you have an option in your BIOS like "USB BIOS Legacy Support"? If so, you may need to enable it.
