USB flash mounts from time to time

Hi,
I am running Slackware11 with 2.6.17.13-smp kernel. I can not mount usb flash because Slack just don't recognize it.

I plug the flash and do rescan-scsi-bus -l and the answer is no new devices found. It is odd because from time to time I manage to mount it. It works fine under Windows( on the same pc) and on other pc with Slack.
I have fstab entry, and it is correct. Can it be hotplug problem?

Any Ideas?

With 2.6 kernel, you must have udev package installed and /etc/rc.d/rc.udev should have execution permission.

Also type in the command line: dmesg (after you installed your USB key)

This will give you some information at the end of the log that you can post.
