USB 320gb Hard drive


Can Slackware 13.37 boot from a USB 320gb hard drive?

If some conditions are present of course.

What gives you an impression that there could be a problem?

Does your motherboard's BIOS recognize the device in the boot selection sequence? Older BIOSes do not recognize USB devices for booting.

I use Slackware 12.0 a long time ago and would not. So I went to Ubuntu 10.10 it nice but I miss Slackware. My computer is an HP 8200 with AMD's Athlon 64 X2 6000+ processor with 3.5gb of memory. And will boot from a USB device.

Shouldn't be a problem then.

Even older BIOSes may be able to boot from USB with the help of Plop boot manager
