Upgrading to Slackware 10.2

I've been using 10.1 now for awhile and now I am ready to upgrade. I have this handy guide for installing slackware 10.2 BUT I just want to make sure I do not lose my Windows files when I install.

Heres how I got my pc set up: 1 hard drive, 50% Windows partition, 50% Slackware partition.

So my question is: Is it safe to go ahead and install 10.2 without losing my existing Windows setup?

You can let Slackware detect the other OS on the hard drive by telling it to do a "simple LILO install".
It will install a lilo configuration that boots into Windows by default if a Windows partition is detected. Slackware Linux will be the second entry in the LILO boot menu.

Eric

PS: if you wait a couple more days, you can use Slackware 11.0 on your computer instead of Slackware 10.2. The differences between the two are quite big.
