upgrading kde 3.3 to 3.4 safely
 

hi guys im deciding to upgrade kde to 3.4.2 but im quite hesitant doing it. can you teach me guys on how i gonna upgrade it safely without facing some troubles and wiping out some important files

I've upgraded a few days ago and it was quite simple. I've just downloaded the content of the contrib/ folder in kde.org's ftp :

ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/3.4...lackware/10.1/

Then, have a look at the the README and that was all.

Jeez..just uninstall old KDE and install new.....

There are a few of us that are having still having problems with kword text entry after the upgrade. There does not seem to be any way to get useful debug from koffice.
