i guess my only question is about the mail(); function.... in the php.ini for win32 i had to set my smtp server to my roadrunner server (smtp.nycap.rr.com) however there doesnt seem the be a place for this for "unix"... how do i setup the outgoing server address for the mail function?
Short answer: mail() uses sendmail. The setup you used before utilized Win32 specific commands. You need to configure Sendmail properly. May mean setting up a smart_host.

I don't see a way around this. Maybe FormMail (perl script) can be used instead.
You can see my post at the top, but I think that an even better expalianation is given by SeigeX. Search the forum for his article on Sendmail. Read both and you should get it. It's too long to give you a step by step as you do it.
