I am using slack 10.2
I removed the 3 kde base packages, then installed the new kde using pkgtool and now konqueror crashes and I cannot use the file manager, I get a cervisia message saying to change view in konqeuror but it (kde) wont start. The wierd thing is that the other 2 users upgraded to the new KDE just fine and konqueror works in them. Any ideas what I can do to fix this?

This is the error I get when i try to start konqueror from console.

Are you trying to use your old config files?

Try deleting ~/.kde or moving it to another location.

Generally speaking, it isn't a good idea to keep old configuration files around when upgrading KDE.

I found that out the hard way. I deleted .kde and then reconfigured and KDE is better than ever, lol. It also fixed a couple other problems with fonts and graphics I was having. KDE is much faster too. Thanks.
