Hello.
I posted this on SLACKWAREHELP.COM, but since I got only one answer, I am not quite sure what to do

Here is the issue:
I run Slackware 10.1, which comes with X 8.1.
I use slackpkg to update although I do this quite rarely.
I want to keep my system (Slackware 10.1) but upgrade only X to that version that comes with Slackware 10.2 (X 8.2) or Slackware Current (X 9.0).
Is it possible? I suppose it is, I have just to put a mirror for Slackware Current in /etc/slackpkg/mirrors. But will this mess up the system?
The reason I want to do this is that sometimes X freezes when I want to exit (for example GNOME or FLUXBOX). This never happened with Slackware 10.2, and it does not happen with Slackware 10.1 if I have GDM (runlevel 4, not 3). But still X behaves strange sometimes on Slackware 10.1. The reason I dont switch to Slackware 10.2 is that I use GNOME and in *my* oppinion Freerock or Dropline are not stable enough and have more bugs than the default GNOME of Slackware 10.1. When Slackware 11 comes out with 2.6 series Kernel, I will think again about Dropline.
Please, give some suggestions!
Thank you.
