upgrade to fluxbox 0.9.X

I want to upgrade my Fluxbox .01.14 WM in Slack 10 to 0.9.X. Do I need to uninstall my current Flux and then just do a sh configure, make, make install (as root)-or is there more?

I would grab the fluxbox 0.9.12 source out of slackware-current/source/xap/fluxbox and just build it on your system, and then do an upgradepkg. Did that for my 9.1 box and it runs great.

so you're saying build it on my system-you mean do a make as a user and then use upgradepkg as root to install?

No. Goto a slackware mirror, and download the slackware-current/source/xap/fluxbox directory. Run "fluxbox.SlackBuild" as root, and it will create a binary package for you in /tmp. Then run "upgradepkg fluxbox-0.9.12-i486-1.tgz".

you can grab it from here and download it to your home directory. then in a terminal, su to root, and upgradepkg fluxbox and it will upgrade for you.
