Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I had it enabled, but when I upgraded kernels it gave me a blank display, so I switched it back to "normal". How can I make it work when I select a higher resolution?

OK, I got the high-res console going now. But, I would really like to get the mouse thing sorted out. Both my touchpad and USB mice are really sensitive, what can I do to tone this down?

I use the synaptics driver. Get it here. And for kde (if your using it) you can get a piece of software that allows you to alter settings of the touchpad from within the Control Centre. Look here. These sorted the prob on my laptop.

OK thanks, I'll try out that driver. But my USB mouse is overly sensitive as well, is there any way to fix that? (I'm not using KDE, by the way)

An interesting note, if this helps, is that with my default xorg.conf the mice (both touchpad and USB) work as expected. It is only when I add another InputDevice section to enable the scrollwheel on my USB mouse that they both become really sensitive...

the synaptics driver should still work with any window manager/desktop environment, you just won't have the frontend. On the site they give you sample settings for the touchpad to be set in the xorg.conf file, these settings should sort the touchpad

(I think, but am not sure, that it's possible to run ksynaptics within fluxbox)

Yeah, I'm definitely looking into the driver I'm just thinking there must be something deeper going on, since it affects my USB mouse as well (and really, this is the one I'm most concerned about, I use it the most) and since I can get it to not happen at the expense of my USB mouse's scrollwheel. For that matter, what is different that makes my USB mouse work without a separate section in xorg.conf? When I was running 2.4.x I had to add a section to get it to function at all...

Well, OK after installing the driver everything works great, thanks KMcD. It is still odd to me that installing a driver for the touchpad would make the USB mouse work as well. Oh well, it works so I guess I won't dwell on it too much.
