I am running Slack 8.1 right now, and after doing some reading I am now considering upgrading to Slack 9. My question is: Can I just do an upgrade or do I have to do a complete re-install? My workstation is so sweet right now, I really don't want to have to start over and reconfigure everything. But if that is what needs to be done, I will.
I dual-boot w/XP and I use 'Acronis True-Image v6.0'. I use it to make an image of my entire slack-9.0, hdb. It will support any Linux fs, including reiserfs.
I monkey around w/ my slack system with great confidence, because if I screw it up I can restore the entire slack system easily. I've only had to restore once, and when you do, your slack system is like it was when you made an image w/ it(grin).
I've used 'ghost' before, but IMHO, True-Image is better by a long shot! Anyway, ghost don't support the fs's that T-I does.
