upgrade PHP

Hi,

this is a noob type questios, so all help would be appreciated...

I have a standard slackware 9.1 out of box install...

1) what is the easiest way to rebuild PHP, so that it's up to the latest level as I read anything less than 4.3.10 has a security problem ?

I would like to keep all my settings etc. ? (plus maybe add SNMP)

2) what's the easiest wasy to see what security updates are availble and implement them ?

Mark.

I would go to :
http://www.slackware.com/security/

Then I would upgrade any package I want, with paying attention to dependencies
