Upgrade from Slack 11 to Slack 12 breaks printer.

I have just recently upgraded my box to Slackware 12. Everything else is working fine after some merging of configuration files and such. However, CUPS dosen't seem to work with my printer following the upgrade. CUPS recognizes and adds the printer ok, but upon trying to print, I get a "foomatic-rip failed" error. Setting CUPS loglevel to debug produces nothing that points to the exact cause of this problem. Also scouring the internet all day to see if anyone else had this same problem didn't turn up anything. I'm using an HP DeskJet 3910. Anyone out there have any ideas?

Have you tried using hplip ?
