Updating Kde and X questions

Howdy Partners!
1) Is there a nice way to update Kde from 3.2 to the newest oneż? Because from what I've seen I have to download everything, erase my old kde, and install the new.
The same question goes for gnome.

2) x questions, I installed several window managers, for testing them, Now i want to erase/unistall them... is that posible? and if so, how do I do that.

Thanks
Alex

You can use
#upgradepkg *tgz
from the directory you downloaded your kde installation tarballs and upgradepkg will delete old versions and install the new ones.
