update and patch how to
 

i am using slackware 9.1

if i want to update software like gimp what i have to do


and the big problem is

the icon's in kde desktop gone rarely
while i drag picture file to set as wallpaper

and the gnome shows that it has found a bug send or close then i couse close becoz i am behind a proxy the send mail do not work everything gone about 1 seconds then all came back again and the gxine fails when i play full screen video

how to update this or give patch

gxine in Slackware is buggy program. Don't use it. Or remove it then install gxine froum source. If you just want to update one or two program, the best way is to update it manually. If you just want to update gimp, you remove it then install gimp froum source or install gimp from Slackware current repository. If you want to update all you softwares, then you have to take a risk to make your system unstable by updating your Slackware to Slackware current. You can use swaret or program like that. Slackware current is something like Debian Unstable.

the gimp new version says that i should locate the jpg and other installation path

how could i ./configure the gimp new version in slackware 9.1
