updata to new slack


hi every body
i have slack 10.2
i want to updata to the new slack
but i have my programs on /home
and i don't want to lose them
can any body help???

You won't lose anything on /home by just updating the system.

Something tells me he wants to do a fresh install and only has a / partition.

Is this the case?

In that case you could tell it not to format / during the Slackware 11 install, but it would be better to just copy everything to a removable device and then put it back on when the install is done.

And next time, put /home on it's own partition.

There should be no need to reinstall everything. I did an upgrade from 10.2 to 11.0 and everything went very well. Just make sure you follow the instructions in UPGRADE.TXT and CHANGES_AND_HINTS.TXT closely and you should be fine.
