For each of the issues, unless you provide related log(s), we are clueless.
i.e.
(1) what message, syslog, said (located in /var/log). you may use tail -f command to any of the log file prior to running a specific program (better to open two or three tabs of Konsole/terminal, so you can watch any error). you may also use dmesg.
(2) for antivirus that is being used, does it support --debug? if so, try to run with --debug option then pasting any error you may found.
(3) strace may be useful, if you expect kernel related problem.

I suspect not.

smartctl --all /dev/sdX, there's a lot of information that may be useful i.e Media_Wearout_Indicator, SMART Error Log, etc.
