Unresolved Symbols Kernel Modules Athlon Optimized

Hello,

Whenever I re-compile a 2.4.33.3 Kernel and change the Processor Optimization to Athlon (from the default of i486), upon reboot, I get unresolved symbols for modprobbe'd modules regarding _mmx_memcpy.

Now here is what I suspect I am doing wrong. When those modules are compiled, they are using my GCC compile configuration which is probably i486 as well correct? Should I be telling it to use athlonxp when I compile those modules?

Please and thanks!

Anyone? I've googled and I can't find a definite answer to this. What is the proper way to re-compile when you change process architectures? Am I missing something? I can't be the only one to encounter this on Slackware.

If you really want an answer ... I don't know. But, do try what you suggested ... it might just work.
