Unhappy unreponsive on startx


i have installed slackware 11, alongside windows xp
after installing and configuring huge26.s kernel,
when i try starting the xwindow server using
startx.the screen goes completely unresponsive with multicoloured pixels showing up.
i dont understand where i have gone wrong.

Check your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file. I think you have some configuration error.

Usually command "X -configure" will create a proper base xorg.conf file to /root which you then copy to /etc/X11.

You could then paste the xorg.conf file here and tell you monitor and display adapter so we can check the proper settings for the file.
